New Boomkin Q&A

I started a druid for the first time, and am trying balance spec. I have lots of questions, because it has a lot of casting features I don't see with mages or shadowpriests. Here are the first few. I will add more.

1. I remember when boomkins were called oomkins, but I never have mana problems. Did Blizzard change something?

2. I hesitate to take typhoon talent, because I know how much I hate it when I warrior tank. Is my hatred valid?

3. Does shooting stars proc more if you have moonfire and insect swarm on several mobs? For example, is it a good opening move to tab cast moonfire/swarm on all the mobs to try to get the starsurge proc?

2. It's valid, typhoon without a glyph is annoying for tanks. Glyph it and you won't have a problem.

3. Good question, I don't know exactly but it stands to reason that it would.
